OPEN VACANCY: CHEF

What are we looking for?
A self-starter and a chef with a la carte experience who can keep a smile on their face and a spatula in their hand even in the toughest situations. Especially expertise and experience in frying and/or from “the warm side” is considered an advantage. You don’t need to have 10 years of experience, it’s the attitude that counts! We don’t assume that you know everything right away, the most important thing is that you have a desire to learn and develop. We have strong house manners, but your own expertise can and must be brought to the fore. We work professionally in a team. So good teamwork skills and the ability to work smoothly with different people are a prerequisite. The work is focused on evenings and weekends, so in principle more ala carte than lunch.

Who are we?
Restaurant Tampella is an a la carte and lunch restaurant that has already earned its reputation as a classic in the middle of a prestigious milieu on the shore of the Tammerkoski rapids. We focus on professionalism, quality and service – both in the kitchen and in the dining room. Although we do not compromise on quality and level, we are an easily approachable and popular restaurant all year round, from season to season. Our food philosophy is a mix of classic European and Finnish cuisine with small twists. We use and value high-quality ingredients and always try to prepare everything from scratch ourselves. Our restaurant has about 150 customer seats, in addition to the normal a la carte and lunch services, we do private events of various sizes and we serve a lot of larger groups. Tampella has been operating since 2016 and we are a private family business. As an employer, we are fair and honest. Generally relaxed, but also demanding in certain matters – for us, responsibility and freedom go hand in hand. Things are handled as promised and agreed together.

What do we offer?

  • Permanent job, full-time or 90 hours/3 weeks (negotiable on a case-by-case basis)
